Culinary Banquet 2017

• The Shores Resort & Spa
• Banquet is for the entire Academy
• Come out to celebrate our successes!
• Papers for RSVP will be sent home after Spring Break
• SENIOR DEADLINE: 3/31/2017

Academy changes

• Effective 2017-2018 school year
• Meant to make it easier and more accessible for students and parents to be a member of the Academy

Yearly continuance

• Maintain a 2.5 GPA
• No discipline issues
• No more than 10 excused or unexcused absences in Culinary classes

No longer required yearly

• 2 events
• 1 fundraiser
• Booster meetings
• Lunch meetings

"Hall of Fame"

• Graduating senior with 3.0 GPA
• ServSafe certified
• Participate on a Competition Team
• Minimum 75 service hours in Culinary
• Tour two schools with Culinary Academy
• Shadow a business partner for 10 hrs.
• Culinary Operations 1-4

"Hall of Fame" award

• Recognition at the Distinguished Honors Banquet
• Plaque in Culinary classroom
• Embroidered chef coat
• May apply for COMMUNITY scholarships

No longer applicable

• Effective 2017-2018 school year
• No Booster meetings; parents can attend Advisory Board meetings
• No 'senior scholarships' from the Academy, only from the community

Fundraising

• All monies raised from fundraisers will go towards programs needs and for the use of ALL students

Fundraising money

• Take more students on trips
• Pay for student meals on trips
• Buy new classroom equipment
• Buy new chef coats for class
• Provide more unique, paid-for opportunities for students
• Guest speakers and demonstrations
• Go towards more labs = groceries!
