PRESENTATION OUTLINE

THE SUN

WRITTEN BY: RAY SPANGENBURG PICTURES BY: KIT MOSER CREATED BY: ADAN HABIBI

Topic
The topic is mostly about the sun, it's features, and lots of other things. It is teaching me a lot about the sun and all of its features. I learned a lot about the sun from this book. Now I have lots of knowledge about the sun all because of this book.

Facts
One fact about our sun is that our sun formed 4.5 billion years ago because hot gases and small bits of dust formed a humongous cloud known as the solar nebula. Unhurriedly, the strong force of gravity pulled the particles in the cloud toward each other. Finally, the particles were packed so close that the cloud began to shrink. Suddenly a very young star was formed, a protostar was formed.

Facts
A second about the sun is that it is 93 million miles away from the Earth.

Facts
A third fact about the sun is that its energy is produced in its core by a process called nuclear fusion.

Facts
A fourth fact about the sun is that the chromosphere of the sun is cooler when it is closer to the core of the sun. This puzzles astronomers.

Facts
A fifth fact about the sun is that its age is approximately four point five billion years old and that the core is twenty seven million degrees Fahrenheit.

Facts
A sixth fact about the sun is that it just looks bigger because it is the closest star to the earth. Other stars may be bigger or smaller than the sun even though they look so small.

Facts
A seventh fact about the sun is that it is magnetic because the swirling gases deep inside the sun create very energetic and powerful magnetic fields.

Facts
An eighth fact about the sun is that it is never moving and the object that is really moving is our earth.

Facts
A ninth fact about the sun is that it has 99.8 percent of all matter in the solar system.

Facts
A tenth fact about the sun is that it is made of 71% hydrogen and 27% helium. The other two percent is a mixture of other gases.
