  • Being a change agent

Impact Student Achievement by:

  • At W. E. Striplin Elementary, I must lead by example and be current on educational trends and practices.
  • I support district leadership, programs and goals and that support is clear to my faculty and students.
  • I have to be positive and first to adapt to new policies, procedures and curriculum changes.

The Principal:

  • Character matters.
  • People won't remember what grade a person made in a class, but how one acts will follow for life.
  • This book reminds me of a quote: "Be the change I wish to see."

  • This year, I worked to build professional capital in my building. Based on teacher strengths and weaknesses (formatively assessed) I encouraged teachers to pursue another degree, lead trainings, apply to present at conferences, etc).

  • Good teachers are an asset. Assets in the classroom lead to higher student achievement.
