Who is Boko haram?
Boko haram is a jihadist group that is in northeastern Nigeria and is also active in Chad, Niger, and Cameroon.

What do
they want?
They wish to take over northern Nigeria as an Islamic state.
WHAT DID THEY DO?
THEY KIDNAPPED NEARLY 300 NIGERIAN SCHOOL GIRLS, AND DESTROYED ENTIRE TOWNS.
Why did they do it?
Boko haram believes that western education is a sin, and they oppose the education of women. They attack places of education to try to prove their point.

What is being done to stop it?
The White House and the state department are hosting a meeting to call attention to Boko haram and their actions, and are in quote, holding 'an international summit on combating violent extremism'.
