BIOME PROJECT

BY ALLI ROE AND SIERRA STEINER

WATER CYCLE

CARBON CYCLE

NITROGEN CYCLE

BIOME RESEARCH

  • Globe: ocean
  • Climate: average 72 degrees c
  • Annual precipitation:30 to 100 ft a year
  • Plant adaptions- red mangrove tree, plankton, algae
  • Animal adaptions- whales, dolphins, sharks

BIOME RESERACH

  • Sites to see- board walk, beach, north side park
  • Activities to do - cave exploring, surfing, boating
  • What did they do? They researched plants and animals
  • How did this hurt/ help the envirorment? It help because they know what plants and animals are in
  • How did the plants / animals respond- the animals were scared and wanted to kill some of the animals because the hurting the envirorment

FOOD WEB

BIOSPHERE

THE BIOSPHERE IA THE GLOBAL SUM OF ALL ECOSYSTEMS. THE ZONE OF LIFE ON EARTH, A CLOSED SYSTEM

BIOME

BIOMES A CLIMATICALLY AND GEOGRAPHY DEFINED CONTIGUOUS AREAS WITH SIMLAR CLIMATIC CONDITIONS ON EARTH

ECOSYSTEM

IS A COMMUNITY OF LIVING ORGANISMS IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE NON LIVING COMPONENTS OF THEIR ENVIRONMENT

POPULATION

ALL THEN INHABITANTS OF A PARTICULAR TOWN, AREA, COUNTRY

ORGANISIMS

AN INDIVIDUAL ANIMAL, PLANT OR SINGLE CELLED TO FORM

HIPPO

  • Habitat loss-habitat destruction is the process in which natural habbitats is rendered functionally unable to support the species present
  • Invasive species- a major threat to our environment they can change habitats and alter the ecosystem function and ecosystem services
  • Pollution- the presence in or introduction into the environment of a substance or thing that is harmful or poisonous effects
  • Over harvesting- a renewable resource to the point of diminishing returns

SUCCESION

  • Primary succession- occurring in an environment in which new substrate devoid of vegetation and usually lacking soil
  • Secondary succession- is a process started by an event that reduces an already established ecosystem
  • Climax community- a biological community of plants and animals and fungi which through the process of ecological succession

ORGANISM RESEARCH

  • Taxonomy: kingdom animilia, phylum Chordata, class reptilia, order crocodylidae, family crocodylidae , genus crocodylus osteolaemus and mecistops, crocodylus niloticus.Multicellular, nucleus, eukaryotic, heterotrophic.
  • Plant name: kingdom plantae, phylum chlorophyta, class bryopsidophyceae, order bryopsidales, family halimedaceae, genus halimeda 1812, species halimeda tuna, single celled, both present, single celled, autotrophic, gymnosperms
  • Fungi name: kingdom plantae, phylum charophyta, class zygnmatophyceae, order zygnematceae, genus spirograhrio, species aplanospora. Multicellular, nucleus, eukaryotic, autotrophic.
  • Protist name: kingdom Protozoa, phylum Ciliophora, class ciliates, order Heterotrichida, family spirosromidae, genus nyctotherous, single celled, nucleus, eukaryotic, heterotrophic, animal like.
  • Bacteria name: kingdom archea, phylum euryarchaeota, class halo bacteria, order halo bacterial es, family halobacteriacaea, single celled, both present, eukaryotic, heterotrophic.

RELATIONSHIP RESEARCH

  • Def: relationship between 2 different organisms in which one receives benefits from the other by causing damage to it.
  • Predation: the preying of one animal on others.
  • Commensalism: association between 2 organisms in which one benefits and the others derives neither benefit no harm.
  • Mutualism: doctoring that mural dependence is necessary to social we'll being.
  • Competition: activity or conduction of competing.
