The Black Christmas Bushfires were bushfires that burned for almost three weeks from 25 December 2001 across nsw. It was the longest continuous bushfire in NSW history. The bushfire happened because of low rainfall in spring. Lightning and arsonists were the main cause of the bushfires after that. They ended on the 7th of January 2002 after heavy rain in Sydney.
