BIRTH CONTOL PATCH

The birth control patch releases hormones. The hormones in the patch work by keeping eggs from leaving the ovaries. Pregnancy cannot happen if there is no egg to join with the sperm. The hormones also make the cervical mucus thicker keeping the sperm from getting to the eggs. The classification of the patch is barrier. Less than 1 out of 100 women will get pregnant each year if they always use Ortho Evra as directed. This may cost $0-$80

BIRTH CONTROL SHOT

(DEPO-PROVERA)

The birth control shot releases a hormone- progestin- into the body. The progestin in the shot works by keeping eggs from leaving the ovaries. It also makes the cervical mucus thicker. It keeps sperm from getting to the eggs. This is classified as a barrier. The birth control shot is one of the most effective method of birth control available. If you need an exam it may cost $0-$250.

BIRTH CONTROL SPONGE

The sponge works by covering the cervix and blocks sperm from entering the uterus. It also continuously releases a spermicide that keeps sperm from moving. It's classified as a barrier. The sponge is more effective when used correctly. It's more effective with women who've never give birth. A package of three sponges cost $0-$15

CERVICAL CAP

(FEMCAP)

The cervical cap prevents pregnancy by keeping sperm from joining with an egg, in order to be effective as possible, the cervical cap must be used with spermicide cream or jelly. The cervical cap blocks the opening to the uterus and the spermicide stops the sperm from moving. It's classified as a barrier. Its effectiveness is 14 out of 100 will become pregnant each year. The cost is ranged from $0-$200.

$1000.
