Literature has the power to illustrate, evoke, promote, provoke, question, etc. I think literature tends to broaden the individual's thinking, observations and mind in general. Any action in that affect would rarely cause harm. It is narrow-minded thinking and lack of information that causes a lot of the negativity in the world ie ignorance, prejudice, etc.
