BIOMASS ETHANOL

BY EVIE, ALEX, REESE AND HANNAH

CONSUMER

Using our burning technology that does not use electricity, the estimated cost to produce electricity from biomass ranges from 5.2-6.7 cents per kilowatt-hour in Oregon the Pacific Northwest.

This resource is fairly accessible to the public. In America, we could match the amount of oil that we produce from the Persian gulf in 2050. Around 2017, smaller amounts will be accessible.

Biomass is a renewable resource. There are almost unlimited amounts of old wood, organisms, and much more that can be used for biomass. We can use about any waste for this but corn being used for biomass ethanol.

Biomass can be efficient because the resources that it generates on is renewable so that helps. Some places wood stays wet so you can't always be sure because not as much heat will be produced in wet wood. The leftover ash can be leftover but you can use it for fertile. It only uses 50% of it but you can make it 100% useful!

ENVIRONMENTALIST

A positive effect to the environment by using this form of energy is that the agriculture activities produce great amounts of biomass leftovers. Some of them could be used to create energy without harming soils. Harmful effects are that this may not be physically harmful, but it can attract unpleasant pests. There are both positive and negative effects from using biomass energy.

There are harmful effects to humans and they are that if we burn biomass for energy it lets out great amounts of pollution. This endangers health of humans. Biomass also wastes water and pollutes rivers. This could be harmful if we don't handle it correctly in Townsville.

We would want to put the power plant a good distance away because it would leave more room in Townsville of different things. The location of specifically outside of the city limits would be the better way because it will be a cleaner and safer town if it's further away.

SCIENTIST

Ethanol biomass is created by wood and by products to be converted in to a liquid biomass. It is produced by auger crops, corn and algae.

To create biomass, we would get grain and liquify it then we would then we would sell it to companies to sell to the general public and do examples to show them our energy.

Biomass ethanol energy can be sustainable for ever.

You can store biomass ethanol energy in a coal like power plant, and you can pump the energy in to a large battery with electricitcal wires to pump into for later use.

ECONOMIST

Establishing Biomass costs about 5.2 to 6.7 cents per kilowatt hour.

10% of the world's energy budget is biomass. So it is used as fossil fuels , but it is more used than hydropower. It is widespread because from cave men to now, we burn wood which produces heat.

It would require a small ethanol Plant for burning the organisms into fuel. The ethanol plant would cost about 60 million dollars for this power plant.

Biomass produces no sulfur emissions, and help weaken acid rain. Biomass gets people wood manufacturing jobs, electric utilities, and independent power producer jobs.
