PRESENTATION OUTLINE
1.
VACOULES & VESICLES
2.
VACOULE
A Vacuole is a membrane-bound Organelle which is present in all plant & fungal cells and in some animal cells.
Vacuoles are filled with water containing inorganic and organic molecules including enzymes in solution.
Vacuoles are formed by the fusion of multiple membrane vesicles.
The organelle has no basic shape or size; its structure varies according to the needs of the cell.
In some cases they can have some solids engulfed in them.
3.
FUNCTIONS OF VACUOLES
Isolating materials that might be harmful or a threat to the cell
Containing waste products
Containing water in plant cells
Maintaining internal hydrostatic pressure or turgor within the cell
Containing small molecules
4.
Untitled Slide
Exporting unwanted substances from the cell
Allows plants to support structures such as leaves and flowers due to the pressure of the central vacuole
5.
VESICLE
A vesicle is a small organelle within a cell, consisting of fluid enclosed by a membane.
Vesicles can form naturally and artificially
They act as chemical chambers
Vesicles are involved in metabolism, transport, and enzyme storage
