There are many reasons for people to binge drink, sometimes it's not intentional. Some reasons are, forgetting about broken friendships, sometimes it's even for fun, to have a good time. Australians who binge drink as teenagers continue to drink at severe levels in adulthood, a study has found, more than 90 per cent of men who drink alcohol to excess as teens keep doing so throughout their 20s.The research, published in the British Medical Journal Open, is based on a study of nearly 2000 Victorian teenagers aged between 14 to 17. They were followed and assessed nine times over 15 years, starting in 1992.As teenagers, 52 per cent of boys and 34 per cent of girls reported drinking five or more drinks on a single occasion within the past week. These cases prove that in Australia binge drinking is a massive problem. It also proves that binge drinking doesn't just make you sick, it can cost you your life.
