Big Bang Theory

Chante Kuhn

The Big Bang

  • The Big Bang Theory is the most common and accepted theory
  • It began as a 'singularity'- (hot, small and dense)
  • Then the universe expanded very quickly- thus the name 'the big bang'

Stengths

  • Evidence of this theory includes:
  • Cosmic microwaves background radiation
  • This radiation was hot and strong when the universe was created
  • This same radiation is found today as cold and weak but still present

Weaknesses

  • The theory doesn't have the answer as to why it happened
  • The theory includes assumptions with no concrete evidence

Opportunities

  • New matter still being created as the universe is expanding

Threats

  • There are other ways of explaining origin
  • For Example;
  • The Steady State Theory
