BIG ART DAY

MATERIALS

• Scissors
• Thumbtacks
• Pencil with eraser
• Colored pencils or markers

Getting Started:

On one side of the paper write down your feelings about war/peace/tolerance/living in harmony.

On the other side of the paper, use markers, colored pencils, or other art media to visually express your feelings.

Creating the Pinwheel:

Following the lines on the template, cut all four corners leaving about 2 inches of center uncut.

Gently bend (not fold) one of the cut corners to the center point. Skip the next cut corner, and bend the next one. Skip and bend until four points meet in the center.

To put your pinwheel together, place the thumbtack through the points that meet in the center and into the pencil eraser.

Find a grassy spot and "plant" your pinwheel.
