STRENGTHS/weaknesses of the North (Union)

  • weaknesses: Lincoln was not able to recruit Ulysses S. Grant and was on the offensive in unfamiliar taritory
  • Strengths: the union was strong in its numbers of troops and had lots of factories and crops for the soldiers

Strengths/weaknesses of the south

  • weaknesses:the south had little factories and crops for soldiers. also had a small a small mass of soldiers for a total compare to the north
  • strengths:they had a defensive advantage against the invading union. also they had a great leader,Ulysses S. Grant

  • This battle was a offensive for the Confederacy who had wanted to press the union and send them on the deffencive
