Belzec located in Poland was the name of a concentration camp that was one of the first Natzi German extermination camps established in 1941.

At the camp there were guard towers all around the main perimeter

A transport of 40-60 rail trucks transported over 2,500 Jews to the Belzec stations.

To exterminate they used three gas chambers using carbon monoxide houses in a wooden building.

Later on they used six gas chambers in a brick concrete building.

During the early months of 1943, the corpses of the murdered Jews were disinterred and burned in open air pits. The camp was then closed. However, local people excavated
the ground for valuables and had to be driven off by guards. To deter other scavengers, the area of the camp was ploughed over and turned into a farm. One of the Ukrainian guards was made the farmer.
