Are beauty pageants brainwashing our young woman to be shallow and superficial

My stance in the is yes. Beauty pageants are influencing the mind of our young women and changing their values and morals.

EVIDENCE THAT IM NOT CRAZY ;)

• Parents will condone surgery for their children to look better on stage
• Young women will starve themselves to look skinny so that they can't be called fat
• Beauty pageants are expensive. Makeup and wardrobe could buy me a new car.
• They make the girls think that they need everyone's approval.
• The girls get an attitude that they are better than everyone that isn't as pretty as they are

EVIDENCE

• Losing a beauty pageant makes the girl feel as if she isn't good enough
• Beauty pageants are only worried about beauty and don't ever help the young woman
• To flourish into a smart individual. They teach women that they only have to be pretty to
• Succeed in life.

OPPOSITE POSITIONS

• There are three total places that you can stand at
• You can be pro-pageants
• You can be anti-pageants
• Or you can say that they have no effect
• I'm about to show you why if I think pageants aren't bad then you're wrong

LETS START WITH PRO-BEAUTY PAGESNTS

• I'll provide some basic info first
• Pro-beauty pageants support the idea that its good for the girls to
• Get out on stage and learn public speaking and feel beautiful
• Pro-pageant people put their kids in pageants to have fun, but get caught up in winning
• Because how can your child feel beautiful if 5 other girls beat her

THE UN-OPINIONATED

• These people think that beauty pageants are just another meaningless
• Activity that has no affect on society, now you have to be uninformed to think that
• But I'll change that real quick.

THEN THERE IS ME "THE ANTI-PAGEANTS"

• Now as I'm not a full on anti-pageant, I don't think they should be
• Torn off the face off the earth. I do see the good in them, I just see that the
• Bad far out weighs the good.
• We see the effect pageants have on these girls and see that it isn't good.

UN-OPINIONATED

• Through this presentation I have giving you cited proof
• That beauty pageants have a noticeable effect of the young woman
• In the pageants, so for these people to say that it has no effect would be
• An un-educated and retarded conclusion
• So the un-educated stance is obviously wrong

PRO-PAGEANT

• I've given you reasons why pageants are bad and are
• Infecting the minds of our young women with the twisted idea
• That they must do anything to be "beautiful"
• Pro-pageants will argue that these girls understand that they have natural
• Beauty and don't just rely on there makeup and clothes for beauty

PRO-PAGEANT 2

• These young woman understand that they have natural
• Beauty, but they will never use it when they are trained to use surgery and money
• To buy beauty. These girls only focus only beauty and put off education. So they
• may be beautiful, but they aren't very bright. Just remember that beauty doesn't
• Last forever. Beauty pageants are making these girls shallow and superficial.

Conclusion
Beauty pageants are causing these young woman and woman all around the world to have the need to be beautiful at any cost, that beauty is the most important thing in life. When really it isn't, beauty pageants glamorize the need to buy expensive clothing and makeup to be beautiful.

Conclusion 2
Young woman should focus on education, social skills, and self-actualization just as much as they focus on their beauty. I understand the need to be good looking, just look at me ;) I like to be good too, but understand that there are more important things to worry about.
