BLESSED ARE THE POOR IN SPIRIT, FOR THEIRS IS THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN.

  • This is the first beatitude. It shows that many people are poor in spirit, and have no hope for themselves. However, if you are sad, God will still let you in heaven. You should always help a person who feels poor in spirit.

Blessed are they who mourn, for they will be comforted.”

  • This is the second beatitude - it asks you to comfort the mournful. People can mourn for different things, but always for a sad thing. It can make a person’s day if you take the time to comfort them.

Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the land.”

  • This is the third Beatitude. The saying implies that those who forgo worldly power will be rewarded in the kingdom of heaven. If you want to go to heaven, don’t sin and stay faithful.

“Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied

  • The fourth beatitude relates to your life by how if you want to live a worthy life, you must hunger and thirst for those gifts that only God can grant upon us. God has a special power that he uses to make us have everlasting peace in heaven. If you want the gifts you like, you must try hard.

Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.”

  • This is the fifth Beatitude. It shows kindness, compassion, forgiveness, and similar to those words, mercy. Be merciful, and you will go to Heaven and live eternally. God is always watching us with care.

Blessed are the clean of heart, for they will see God.”

  • If you are clean in heart, God is proud of you. This means you have avoided sin throughout your life, and kept to your good will. Continue to live out this Beatitude to live a long and happy life.

Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”

  • It can be difficult to do what is right in our life. But we learn from Jesus, and through practice in our family, we see that doing the right thing is what it really means to be a follower of Jesus. Jesus will be your guide and friend through life.
