PRESENTATION OUTLINE
Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
This means that we should be humble. Jesus wants us to not be arrogant. Those who aren’t will receive their reward and eternal happiness in heaven. God sees everything we do and we should not gloat about it.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
This means that we should be upset about the sins that we committed. If we are asking for forgiveness and are truly sorry, God will reassure and comfort us. He will guide us in the right direction. God wants everyone to realize the sin they committed was wrong and if we are sad about it, He will recognize and bring us relief.
Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the land.
This means that those who put others before themselves will go to heaven. Jesus wants everyone to act kind and help others. The meek always think about others first. They will live forever in paradise.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied.
This means that we should always do good and want good in the world. If we work for peace, God will give it to us. He wants us to search for him. He wants us to have a desire toward Him. If we do this, He will fulfilled us with His love.
Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
This means that we have to be kind, compassionate, and forgiving. The golden rule teaches us to treat others the way we want to be treated. That relates the this beatitude because in order for us to receive mercy and kindness, we have to show it to others.
Blessed are the clean of heart, for they will see God.
This means that we have to work to be sinless. We have to try and live like holy Christians as God wants. We can’t get caught up in other things that would be put ahead of God. If our heart stays pure, we will go to heaven.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called the children of God.
This means that Jesus wants us to live in harmony and agreement with each other. If we create unity in the world, we will be sons and daughters of God. He expects us, as followers of Him, to bring everyone together and make the world a better place.
Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
This means that we have to stand up for God and what we believe in even though we might face backlash. We have to have faith no matter how others react to it. Those who turn away from the evil temptations will be called to paradise.
