The fort was built with Pallmeto logs to protect Charels Town from the British

The British fired on the fort but the soft logs absorbed the cannon balls and protected the Patriot troops inside

British ships also got stuck on sand bars and were damaged a lot by Patriot cannons

During the war, the flag fell and was rescued by one brave patriot
