  • The battle took place on July 21, 1861.
  • It was at the Manassas valley near Richmond, Virginia.
  • It is also called the Mannassas Junction.

  • There was a total of 4,878 casualties.
  • The casualties were equal on each side, with about 2,500 each.
  • The numbers were so high due to innovations in weapons, they were easier to fire and aim.

  • On the other side of the battle he held the valley like a stonewall.
