  • It is better to hand over the item then risk injuring yourself or worse!

Safety tips to prevent attacks

  • Be aware of your sourroundings
  • Do not walk or park in dark areas with low lighting
  • keep keys in hand
  • vary your route and travel times

If you get attacked and cannot escape...

  • Get loud and push back!
  • Say something like "Back off" as loud as possible
  • The attacker may back off because he/she will realize you are not an easy target
  • Also signals for help

Most effective body parts to attack back at

  • Eyes- poke or scratch
  • This will cause them pain and damage their vision temporarily
  • Be easier to get away

  • Nose- Use palm of hand to push nose upwards with great force.
  • Cause lots of pain
  • Will losen grip on you

  • Neck-strike the side of the neck with palm facing up
  • May stun attacker if you hit the carotid artery and Jugular vein
  • Could also use elbow to strike in throat

  • Knee-kicking
  • kicking the front or back of the knee will cause pain and imbalance
  • Front of knee will cause more injury but attacker will maintain more balance.
