DANGER: PETS

Be sure that your books are not anywhere that your pets can get to them. Unfortunately, some pets enjoy chewing on books.

DANGER: FOOD

Eating while you are reading can make for some messy books.

DANGER: SIBLINGS

Some kids like to draw in (or chew, or tear) library books. Please keep your books safe from your siblings or other young children.

DANGER: MESSINESS

No surprise, some kids lose their books. Keep them in the same spot each week. A desk or bookshelf is a great spot.

DANGER: WATER

Water and books don't play well together. Be sure not to put your book in a bag with your water. Don't read in the bath. If it is raining, put your book in a plastic bag.

DANGER: ROUGH HANDLING

Do not lay your books pages down. Don't dog-ear the pages. Don't drop your book (or try to perfect your posture by carrying it on top of your head).
