PRESENTATION OUTLINE

THE CELL AS A SCHOOL

BY: MATTHEW AZIZ & ANTON RUFFNER 4

CELL MEMBRANE

CONTROLS THE MOVEMENT OF MATERIALS INTO AND OUT OF THE CELL
Cell membranes are the boundary of a cell, just like how a gate is a boundary of a school. The gate and the cell membrane both control the movement of material/people in and out of the cell/school.

CYTOPLASM

SUSPENDS THE ORGANELLES AND FILLS THE CELLS
The students represent cytoplasm, because students fills up the school just like how the cytoplasm fills up the cells. The cytoplasm also suspends the organelles just like how there would be no school without students.

NUCLEUS

CONTROLS THE CENTER OF THE CELL AND CONTAINS GENETIC INFORMATION
The teachers controls the students and the classroom, and contains the genetic information/knowledge the students learn.

CYTOSKELETON

GIVES CELLS SHAPE AND ANCHORS ORGANELLES
Sports have a big affect and/or shapes many schools/cells image. Coaches shape the school team(s) and has a big affect on the school's sport's record.

SMOOTH ER

MAKES LIPIDS AND VESICLES
The cafeteria makes food or lunches for the students just like how the smooth ER makes lipids and vesicles.

ROUGH ER

TRANSPORTS PROTEIN THAT WERE MADE ON THE RIBOSOMES
Rough ER transports proteins that were made on the ribosomes. Just like how school buses are used to transport students from home to school or vice versa.

RIBOSOMES

SITE OF PROTEIN SYNTHESIS
Ribosomes are the site of protein synthesis just like how the classroom is the site of students learning.

GOLGI APPARATUS

MODIFIES, SORTS, AND PACKAGES PROTEINS
The Golgi Apparatus modifies, sorts, and packages proteins, just like how cafeteria workers sort and package the students' food.

VESICLE

TRANSPORTS MATERIAL WITHIN THE CELL
The Vesicle transports material within the cell just like how students transport themselves from class to class.

MITOCHONDRIA

PRODUCES ENERGY FOR CELL PROCESSES
The Mitochondria produces energy for cell processes and is known as the powerhouse just like how things like rallies give students energy and make them motivated to work harder.

CENTRAL VACUOLE

HELPS THE CELL MAINTAIN SHAPE AND IS USED TO STORE NUTRIENTS AND WASTE PRODUCTS
The central vacuole stores nutrients, waste, and products similar to how lunch boxes or bags contain students' water, food, and sometimes their trash.

LYSOSOME

CONTAN DIGESTIVE ENZYMES THAT BRAK DOWN CELLULAR WASTE
The Lysosome contains digestive enzymes that break down waste just like how a trash can holds trash or students' waste.

CELL WALL

GIVES PROTECTION, SUPPORT, AND SHAPE TO THE CELL
The cell wall gives protection, support, and shape to the cell just like how a school security guards sort of protects and monitors the campus.

CHLOROPLASTS

AIDS IN CELL DIVISION
The chloroplast aids in cell devision just like how things like X-period or study hall aids in giving students the time to ask their teachers for 1 on 1 help or to simply just do homework.
