Birth Story
Zeus swallowed his wife when she was in fly form because he didn't want his child to dethrone him. Zeus had a pounding headache because Metis was making a helmet and robe for the baby girl. Hephaestus cracked open Zeus' head and out came fully grown Athena

A FAMOUS TALE OF ATHENA.....

One day the king of Athens wanted to find a patron god or goddess of the city state. He called out Athena and Poseidon because they wanted to be it. Since they were rivals they almost went to war with each other. Athena said that they should each give a gift to the city. Who ever gives the best gift gets the be the patron god or goddess

Poseidon used his trident to create a spring. Everyone loved it, but they couldn't use is because it was salt water.

Athena quietly and planted a seed, which turned into an olive tree. The city loved it! Athena became the patron goddess of Athens.
