PRESENTATION OUTLINE
astronomy- the branch of science that deals with celestial objects, space, and the universe as a whole.
Ellipse- an oval shape, with two interior points called foci, a long axis, and a short axis
Astronomical Unit- a unit of length about the distance from the Earth to the Sun.
Gravity- the force that attracts a body toward the center of the earth.
rotation- the movement or path of the earth or a heavenly body turning on its axis.
Revolution- the movement of one object around a center or another object
Barycenter- the center of mass of two or more bodies usually two that are orbiting around each other.
Precession- the change in the orientation of the rotation axis of a rotating body.
Nutation- the slow toplike wobbling of the spinning earth
Electromagnetic Spectrum- the range of wavelengths or frequencies over which electromagnetic radiation waves extends.
Doppler Effect- The change in frequency of a wave ( from other periodic events )
Sunspot- a spot or patch appearing from time to time on the sun's surface.
Solar flare- the brief eruption of intense high energy radiation from the sun's surface.
Nuclear fusion- a reaction in which atomic nuclei fuse to form a heavier nucleus with the release of energy
Big Band Theory- a theory that describes the supposed birth of the universe of the universe. Form the observed expansion of the universe
