ARISTOTLE

  • Aristotle thought the world was in the center of every thing
  • He thought that the earth went around the sun
  • His contribute is the parallax
  • The parallax is when you look at an object from a different position it moves too
  • He study how you look at things in space and where they are

ARISTARCHUS

  • He believed the sun was in the middle of everything
  • He contributed by attempting to measure the distance to the moon
  • But at the time his idea was not widely accepted
  • He studied the distance from earth to the moon

PTOLEMY

  • He believed that the earth was the middle of everything
  • He also believed planets move in circles while going around the sun
  • He contributed by making the Ptolemaic model
  • This model was used for 1400 years until Copernicus came along
  • He studied how planets move in circles

COPERNICUS

  • He believed that the sun was the center of everything
  • He contributed by making the copernican model
  • He studied how the moon moves around the earth
  • His model was seen as the first step in modern day models

KEPLER

  • He Believed planets didn't move in perfect circles
  • He contributed by making the three Kepler laws
  • He studied how planets moved

GALILEO

  • He believed other planets had moons
  • He studied that other planets had moons
  • He contributed by making the firs telescope
