What is Assistive Technology

  • Any item, piece of equipment, or product system, that is used to increase, maintain, or improve the functional capabilities of a child
  • Big and small, simple and complex, expensive and free
  • As complex as a hand-held electronic magnifying instrument or as simple as a specialized rubber pencil grip.
