ASPERGER SYNDROME

Asperger’s syndrome is part of the autism spectrum disorder, also know as ASD. It’s a mild form of autism and may possibly be genetic. Although researchers have yet to find the gene.

SYMPTOMS:
DIFFICULTY JUDGING PERSONAL SPACE, HEIGHTENED SENSITIVITY, ABNORMAL LANGUAGE AND SPEECH PATTERNS, REPETITIVE MOTOR MANNERISMS, TROUBLE UNDERSTANDING SOCIAL CUES, POOR MOTOR SKILLS, EXCELLENT PATTERN RECOGNITION, LITERAL INTERPRETATION‘S, STICKING TO ROUTINE, NARROWED INTEREST, SOCIAL AWKWARDNESS, UNABLE TO MAKE EYE CONTACT OR FORCING I CONTACT, INABILITY TO EMPATHIZE, SELECTIVE MUTISM,FAILURE TO DEVELOP FRIENDSHIPS.

No one knows the exact prevalence of Asperger’s because it has been under the umbrella of autism. The best guess is 1 of 250 people have the profile. 1 in 68 kids have autism. Most girls go undiagnosed because boys outnumber girls 2:1 with Asperger’s.
