AI

  • Artificial intelligence (AI, also machine intelligence, MI) is intelligence demonstrated by machines, in contrast to the natural intelligence (NI) displayed by humans and other animals.

The risk for the development of human civilization

  • British scientist Stephen Hawking often speaks about the development of artificial intelligence (AI) as a real reason for the possible destruction of the human race.
  • "The development of AI can become both the most positive and the most terrible factor for humanity. We must realize the danger that it poses", he stressed.

At what point today we decide that their mental capacity is approaching the human level? This question will be answered by an ingenious trickknown as the Turing Test.We most easily assess people's intelligence by communicating withthem. The late British mathematician, Alan Turing, proposed a simple test.A person would sit alone in a room talking by teleprinter5 with two otherbeings elsewhere, one of them human and the other a computer. When aftersubstantial conversation he no longer knew which was which, the computerwould have passed the Turing Test, and arguably would have attained human intelligence.

  • As the scientist told in an interview with Wired at the end of November 2017, he fears that AI can generally replace people. According to Hawking himself, people can create too powerful artificial intelligence, which will be extremely good at achieving their goals. And if these goals do not coincide with human goals, people will have problems, the scientist believes.

Development in the USSR and Russia

  • Colleague adviser Semyon Nikolayevich Korsakov (1787-1853) set the task of strengthening the possibilities of the mind by developing scientific methods and devices that echoes the modern concept of artificial intelligence as an amplifier of the natural.
  • In the USSR work in the field of artificial intelligence began in the 1960s
