INTRO TO ART THERAPY
Art therapy is useful for people who struggle to communicate verbally
or have trouble expressing their feelings. Art therapy is using artistic
methods to treat psychological disorders and enhance mental health.
It can be used on people of all ages.
Art therapy was created during the middle of the 20th century.

Working hours: 37.5 hours per week.
Starting salary: $25,000+ per year.
Average hourly wage is $18.95

SKILLS NEEDED
To become an art therapist, you will need to have:
experience of working in the arts
a non-judgemental attitude
the ability to relate to people from all backgrounds
a strong interest or background in psychology

strong communication and listening skills
a flexible and adaptable approach

WHY I CHOSE THIS
I chose this career because it looked interesting to me. It looks
fun to do. I like to help people and I am nice, caring, and I am
good at art.

You are an art therapist for a day.
You will have to plan out the day and make an art project with a patient.
The assignment is to make a collage of 8-10 pictures that represent you.
