WHAT CAUSES ARRHYTHMIA? Arrhythmia's can be caused by coronary artery disease, high blood pressure, changes in the heart muscle, valve disorders, electrolyte imbalances in the blood, injury from heart attacks, healing produces after a heart attack and other medical conditions.
WHAT IS ARRHYTHMIA? An Arrhythmia is a condition in which the heart beats irregularly. The heart may beat too fast (greater than 100 beats per minute) or the heart may beat too slow (under 60 beats per minute). The heart can also just have an irregular beat meaning that the blood is not passing through the heart properly.
MEDICAL TREATMENT Medication: Amiodarone, Bepridill hydrochloride, Disopyramide, Dofetilide, Dronedarone, Flecainide, Ibutilide, Lidocaine, Procainamide, Propafenone, Propranolol, Quinidine, Sotalol and Tocainide. Other ways of treating an arrhythmia is heart surgery or therapy.
