Kids see bullying everyday. They want to help, but they are stuck in knowing (or fearing) how to step in.
Facts:
- Studies show (U.S., 2012) bullying victims are 7% more likely to commit suicide
- 17% of students report cyber-bullying
- 41% physical bullying
- 15% report other types of bullying (texting, verbal)
- 16,000 kids in the US stay home everyday because of bullying
Young people who bully have a 1:4 chance of having a criminal record by the age of 30.
An estimated 200 million children and youth around the world are bullied by their peers. In my Strategies class, 10 students, and 3 adults had been bullied. That was all of us.
THE IMPACT OF BULLYING
- Kids have trouble making friends
- Lack of success in school
- And involvement in problems such as smoking,illegal drug use and drinking
The impact of frequent bullying often accompanies these victims into adult hood,they are at a greater risk of suffering from depression or other mental health problems.In rare cases they commit suicide .

- The bullied individual typically has trouble defending him or herself and does nothing to stop it
- Children who bully and those who are bullied are more likely to miss school,show little interest in their studies and suffer poor grades
