Annelid= segmented worm Which includes over 17,000 modern species. All members of this group in one way or another are segmented. Segments each contain the same parts as a whole body system would, such as circulatory, nervous. Larva may or may not be present; if present they are of the trochophore type. Some forms also reproduce asexually.
There are 650 known species of leeches. The largest leech discovered measured 18 inches. The nervous system of the leech is very similar to the human nervous system and is an enormous benefit to researchers in their quest for the answers to human problems. Early doctors used leeches to treat many medical symptoms and blood issues, even headaches!
They are called christmas tree worms because they look like a Christmas tree. There are both male and female Christmas tree worms, They reproduce by casting their eggs and sperm into the water. The eggs are fertilized in the water then develop into larvae that settle on top of coral. They use their little sensor things off of their face to catch food to eat.
Earthworms’ bodies are made up of ring-like segments. Also known as Night crawlers because they are usually seen feeding above ground at night. They burrow during the day typically keeping close to the surface. An earthworm can eat up to one third its body weight in a day. They mate on the surface, and They are hermaphroditic but do not self-fertilize.
