lions characteristics

  • The lion is the second largest feline after the tiger.
  • Powerful legs,a strong jaw, and really sharp teeth
  • that can crunch a bone up!!! They are really big if you see a wild lion you have
  • no match of getting away without it seeing you.

LIONS DIET

  • Lions favorite meal is zebra,buffalo, and
  • wild beasts flesh. Lions eat grass to for a balanced
  • meal. a lions body require 5 to 7 kilograms of meat
  • each day.

LIONS HABITAT

  • Lions are mainly found in Africa but can also be seen in India and parts of Asia.
  • They like the hot places like the Sahara in Africa and the dryer regions.
  • Lions Live in groups called prides and find a place to live for the rest of their lives.
  • The females are the ones that hunt while the male takes care of the cubs.

LIONS ADAPTIONS

  • One of the lion's adaptations is their sharp claws.
  • They use their sharp claws to hunt and defend themselves. Lions have sharp teeth,
  • that can crush through a bone. They Hum when they are happy and roar when they need
  • to protect their selves

  • The behaviour of lions, interestingly is very sociable, unless when hungry or when provoked.
  • Lions are one of the most skilful hunters in the cat family and have a majestic behaviour as compared to other animals in the cat family.

  • Lions have very sharp teeth and and their nails on Their paws is also really sharp and painful to other predators.
  • Lions also attack any of their prey with their sharp claws and teeth .

  • The lion has forever been a symbol of strength, power and ferocity.
  • African lions are the most social of all big cats and live together in groups or “prides.” A pride consists of about 15 lions.
  • Male lions defend the pride’s territory while females do most of the hunting. Despite this, the males eat first.
  • These majestic cats are threatened by habitat loss. The lion is listed as vulnerable on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.
  • The lion was once found throughout Africa, Asia and Europe but now exists only in Africa with one exception. The last remaining Asiatic lions are found in Sasan-Gir National Park in India, which was primarily created to protect the species. Currently, there are approximately 350-400 lions in the park.
