ALLEGORY

  • The Dr. Seuss poem, The Sneetches, conveyed a theme that everyone is equal in a allegory.

Fable
a short story, typically with animals as characters, conveying a moral (Wikipedia)

My favorite fable is The Tortoise and the Hare.

Satire
the use of humor, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize people's stupidity or vices, particularly in the context of contemporary politics and other topical issues.

A book by George Orwell, Animal Farm, is a satire, mocking the communism of the time.

Capitalism
an economic and political system in which a country's trade and industry are controlled by private owners for profit, rather than by the state.

Many people state that America is slowly becoming a country full of private owners, also known as capitalism.

Communism
a political theory derived from Karl Marx, advocating class war and leading to a society in which all property is publicly owned and each person works and is paid according to their abilities and needs (Wikipedia)

Kim Jong Un, the dictator of North Korea, is a supporter of communism.

Czarist Government
A type of government in which the people are ruled by a king or higher individual

Russia, a commonly-known evil land, has also been considered to have a Czarist government.

Democracy
A system of government by the whole population or all the eligible members of a state, typically through elected representatives

America is governed by multiple people and a president, being called a democracy.

Dystopia
an imagined place or state in which everything is unpleasant or bad, typically a totalitarian or environmentally degraded one (Wikipedia)

A common dystopia consists of beds of marshmallows, people with candy, and a president of chocolate.

Republic
a state in which supreme power is held by the people and their elected representatives, and which has an elected or nominated president rather than a monarch (Wikipedia)

Rome, a country from a long time ago, was one if the greatest republic in history.

Socialism
a political and economic theory of social organization that advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole (Wikipedia)

Many countries produce and distribute products as a whole community, pronouncing the idea of socialism.

Totalitarianism
a political system in which the state holds total authority over the society and seeks to control all aspects of public and private life wherever possible (Wikipedia)

Many argue that totalitarianism is an invasion of privacy and respect.
