WHAT ARE MUMMIES?


Mummies are people usually Kings or priest that have died and are preserved to use there body in the after life.

WHY ARE THERE MUMMIES?

There are mummies because when people died they needed there bodies for after life so the Egyptians took all of there organs out exempt the heart. They did not remove the heart because they thought it was the central emotion base.

WHAT RELIGION ARE MUMMIES FROM?

Mummies are from ancient Egypt? The Egyptians created tombs for kings and queens like king tut and others the painted the tombs for rituals and stuff like that.

DID MUMMIES IMPACT HOW ANCIENT EGYPT PLAYED OUT?

Yes it did, it impacted it in many ways. Like when there was wars and many people died many were mummified. It also impacted religion a lot with there tombs and all the different Kings mummified

HOW WERE MUMMIES MADE?

How were mummies made?The body was washed and purified.
2. Organs were removed. Only the heart remained.
3. The body was filled with stuffing.
4. The body was dried by covering it with a substance called natron. This substance absorbed all the moisture from the body.
5. After 40 - 50 days the stuffing was removed and replaced with linen or sawdust.
6. The body was wrapped in strands of linen and covered in a sheet called a shroud.
7. The body was placed in a stone coffin
