THE UGLY DUCKLING

  • The major problem is that the ducklings wouldn't accept the ugly duckling
  • The conflict is External, Character VS. Character
  • The characters involved in the conflict are The Ugly Duckling, and the Ducklings
  • The conflict could resolved by the ducklings accepting the Ugly Duckling

THE LORAX

  • The major problem is that someone was chopping trees down
  • This was a Character VS. Nature conflict because the Lorax represented the trees
  • The people involved in the conflict are: The Lorax, and Anonymous Person
  • The conflict could've been resolved by stopping the person cutting the tree

TA-NA-E-KA

  • The major problem is that Mary is worried about her 11th birthday (TA-NA-E-KA)
  • The type of conflict this is, is Internal Conflict, or Character VS. Self
  • The characters involved are Mary Whitebird, Roger, Mary's mother, Mrs. Richardson
  • The conflict could be resolved if Mary wasn't apart of TA-NA-E-KA or prepare herself

JOHN HENRY

  • The major problem is that John Henry died after racing a steam drill in mining
  • The kind of conflict this is External, because John Henry was racing a person in a steam drill
  • The people involved in the conflict were John Henry, and the man who invented the steam drill
  • The conflict could've been resolved if John Henry stopped the race. It would've ended happily.
