Ana Ortega-Bohamed

  • Name meaning- "Favored by God" in Hebrew
  • Lineage- Mother- Mexican Indian and Asian
  • Father- Aztec, Spanish and German

The Birth

  • An unwanted pregnancy
  • Mother prayed to Archangel Raphael
  • Currently her mother feels that Ana was a blessed child

The Shack

  • Born in a shack in San Rafael De Los Morenos, Jalisco, Mexico
  • 9 brothers and sisters
  • Born in humble empoverished conditions

I'm Hungry

  • Parents left to America when she was 3 years old
  • She was left at the care of an alcoholic aunt with 6 of her brothers and sisters
  • Always hungry, diet consisted of beans and tortillas. Many times it was only tortillas with salt. No running water, no electricity, an out house for a restroom, no toys. Life was a struggle

Coming to America

  • Reunited with Parents at age 7, but didn't recognize them. She entered the country illegally and stayed in safe houses
  • Lived in Los Angeles, a single unit apartment along with 11 others
  • The Bonaventure Hotel was the first building that took her breath away

The Struggle to Survive

  • Was bullied at school, had no friends
  • Mother was abusive, her father was cold and distant and brothers fought with her
  • Lived in South Central and later moved to East LA.
  • Constantly fighting and having the need to stand up for her self
  • Sexually assaulted by predators
  • No sense of safety and security

The Escape

  • To avoid the chaos of her life, school became her sanctuary
  • She graduated elementary and middle school with honors
  • She played the violin in the orchestra, played sports, read books, wrote in daily journals, loved to draw, was teaching herself Italian, and attended church. Her family was not involved.

The Rebellion

  • She rebelled and fought against the family oppression for being a woman
  • She worked until 1:00am and payed rent at 16 while the boys stole money from their father
  • She was expected to serve the men
  • She was expected to clean for the men
  • She was expected to cook for the men

Liberation of the Mind

  • To escape the oppression of home she entered college
  • She would be the first in the family to enter a 4 year university
  • Commuted daily for 4 hours a day
  • She moved out on her own at 18

The Roaring 20's

  • College was a struggle
  • Failed class after class
  • Was distracted with boys, dance clubs, living life on the edge and travel
  • Good times were more important than good grades
  • She was headed down a path of destruction
  • Relationships were a struggle

On The Right Path

  • Managed to graduate College and this was the first time both parents attended a graduation
  • Became a teacher
  • Moved on to receive her masters and became an Assistant Principal
  • Everything seemed to be going well
  • Built a home for her parents in Mexico

The Great Depression of the 30's

  • Life took a turn for a dark path
  • She experienced a tragic death of a loved one and this flipped her world
  • Fell into a clinical depression
  • Suffered an emotional breakdown
  • She realized she had to go on a personal quest and deal with the challenges of her present and her past

In The Forest

  • She moved away to WA state to rebuild her life from the depression. She left her family, home, friends and everything familiar to her. She was on a quest.
  • She became a Principal and then Head of a Private School that focused on meditation
  • Lived in the forest, practiced meditation and other spiritual practices

A Return to The Light- The Phoenix Rises

  • After her time alone in the forest, she returned to Los Angeles as a new re inspired and rejuvenated woman
  • Married Claude Bohamed
  • Strenghthened Spiritual Practices to conquer herself and strengthened the bond with her parents
  • She explored a different avenue in Education and is rising once again
  • She has been blessed by angels

The Mystic

  • "Life is a series of lessons, when we listen to the voice of God, everything is a possibility. Our culture & environment are props in the movie of our life. The people that join us become our greatest teachers no matter who they are. The power of the spirit transcends all experiences.
