Muzzle

  • Average infantryman carried a muzzle
  • Purchased from foreign countries 

Bayonets

  • When not used in war they where good candle holders
  • They were also good at grinding coffee beans 
  • They were put at the end of a muzzle or musket
  • Used as ancillary weapons for hand to hand combat 

Muskets

  • Typical weight of a musket was 8 and 1 half pounds
  • The musket fired a bullet called a minie ball
  • The bullets where made out of very soft lead 

Cannons

  •  Were used in any other time in military history
  • Used during the Civil War varied greatly in size 
  • Most popular was the Cannon and the howitzer
