Alluvial Fan

Forms when a stream meets flat ground. It is curve shaped, having coarse sediment.

Delta

Formed when a river meets standing water. It is triangular in shape, with deposits of sediment.

Caves

A land form that is created over several years. It is formed by underwater erosion.

Giant Crystals

Crystals formed over thousands of years. Created by groundwater that contains calcium and sulfur.

Sea Arch

Formed when erosion occurs on both sides of a cliff. The erosion eventually creates a hole in the middle of the cliff.

Beach

Formed when waves deposit sand. The sand forms the beach along a shore.

Desert Varnish

A dark brown or black coating formed from iron and manganese. Usually found in the desert.

Sand Dunes

A hill that is formed when the wind deposits sand. Wind and sand are needed to form these dunes.

Horn

A peak that is left on top of a mountain after all sides erode. The peak is usually sharp.

Kettle Lake

A lake that is formed from massive chunks of ice, that have melted. These lakes can be found in Siberia.
