PRESENTATION OUTLINE
The planet that I choose to do my project on is Mars. The relative gravity is 0.380. So for example, if you weighed about 100 pounds on Earth, you would weigh 38 pounds on Mars. If you weighed 50 kg on Earth, on Mars your weight would be 42.18 pounds.
Mars surface features conclude :
canyons, volcanoes, tons of rock solids, and is heavily cratered.
Mars also has polar ice caps on the prime meridian. The northern polar ice cap is made out of carbon dioxide while the southern ice cap is made out of H2O and carbon dioxide. Mars atmosphere contains 91% carbon dioxide, 1.9% argon, 1.9% nitrogen and small traces of oxygen.
Mars does not have any rings around its perimeter of the planet. It has two moons named Phobos and Deimos. Both moons are oddly shaped, and heavily cratered.
Mars is the 4th planet in the row and is the 7th largest planet. It is behind Mercury, Venus, and Earth and is front of Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. Mars is approximately 228 million km away from the sun.
It takes about 687 earth days for Mars to fully go around the sun, which is a year for mars. Each day on mars is 24 hours and 37 minutes which is about an hour more compared to an Earth day.
Mars axis is tilted almost like how Earth is tilted. Earth's axis tilt is about 23 degrees, Mars tilt is 25 degrees. Because Mars axis is tilted, and it is close to Earth's, Mars also has seasons. The highest temperature for Mars is an average 20 degrees Celsius (68 degrees Fahrenheit) and the lowest temperature would be -125 degrees Celsius (-193 degrees Fahrenheit) .
My creature is a lizard-like-human. It is called savropin, which comes from the Greek word "anthropino savro" which means human lizard. Here's an example of what it would look like.
Savorpins survives on my Mars by eating other animals and by sleeping during the night to get energy. Because Mars has lots of carbon dioxide, my creatures would first grow plants in order to breathe air because of the air that plants produce. The plants would be a food source for other animals that my creature raises, and the animals would be the food source for the Savropins.
Because they are like lizards, they are very similar. Like most lizards do, they would also live in burrows or holes in the ground. Some lizards that are different species or races that are immune to the cold would live in the polar ice caps. They are the ones that would also get the water sources from the ice caps.
The Savropins niche or role in their life is to feed, protect, and reproduce sexually, basically like us humans do. And like lizards the sense their prey with their tongue. Catching small particles in the air. Because the senses are different, they convert their sense of taste to smells. This makes them aware of their surroundings.
Savropins would be able to surive the same way as how they used to live on mars, except they wouldn't raise any more animals or grow plants since Earth has all the resources.
