He grew up as a fun kid on the outskirts of Moscow. Son of two Soviet Stars: Mikhail And Tatyana Ovechkin.
Born on 9/17/1985.

He went to school at a little school in Moscow. At 16 years old he dropped out of school to be drafted in to the KHL to play for HC Dynamo Moscow as number 32.

His job for 11 years has been the star forward of the Washington Capitals. He signed a 13 year $124 Million deal on January 13, 2008. He has 8 years left in that contract.

Ovechkin has played as Captain in Washington for 5 years when former captain Chris Clark departed For the Columbus Blue Jackets.

He has been playing with his fellow Line 1 Center Nicklas Backstrom who was drafted in 2007. He has grown up to be an Assistant Captain for the Capitals and plays for the Swedish National Hockey Team

In 2004 Ovechkin was introduced to the NHL with the man you see right there Sidney Crosby. Sid is the Captain of the Pittsburgh Penguins.
They're rivalry is still very strong. A Russian buddy of Ovechkin plays for PIT too number 71 Evgeni Malkin.

He has the record for points scored by a left wing in the NHL. 65 is the new record. He received the key to DC after the 65 goal 2007-2008 season.
