Taught Visible Speech in London
Moved to Boston and joined the Boston School for the deaf
Became a professor of vocal physiology and speech at Boston University

Took 6 years to perfect the telephone

After experimenting the whole summer
Bell wrote a patent specification during the fall
Filed it on February 14,1876
Just a few hours Elisha Gray went to the patent office
Went to patent his own telephone design

Bell's patent was granted
March 7,1876
First message transmitted was on March 10th
"Mr.Watson,come here, I want you!"
3 months later his invention was popular
