This is my biography for reading TAG. My biography is about Alex Ko a boy born in Iowa and has made it all the way to Broadway to star in the Broadway production of Billy Elliot. As a kid who is very into theatre his story is very inspiring for me.
"Then i hear my cue, and I walk out on the stage of Broadway"
Alex Ko was born in Iowa City with an everyday childhood. He was always into gymnastics and dance but after a knee injury in gymnastics (which would cause many problems later) he could no longer do all the flips and jumps he wanted to do so he quit gymnastics. He started to dance but he jumped around a lot. His father never approved of dance so that made Alex work even harder. His father was diagnosed with liver cancer but luckily there was a quick replacement and although it was very big they made it work that year they rode RAGBRAI which had been one of the highlights of that year. They later found out he had gotten liver cancer again and this time it was too late so they went down to Florida to talk to their family one last time after going home he died :(
"I'm at the audition, and I'm scared but i cant let that show"
If not for his outgoing personality Alex may have never landed the part as Billy Eliot for he needed to stand out for anyone to notice him because he was just a boy from Iowa trying out for a Broadway musical so he really has to "wow" the judges. His friendly personality, the big smile, and his overall people person kind of ways made him perfect for the role. He has the kind of hey be my friend feel to him. being born in Iowa made him humble but still striking.
"My feet started to bleed but i cant stop yet, not now...."
Alex Ko is a hardworking kind of guy. Whatever he does he does with his full heart and mind and wont stop until he achieves his dreams. The sight of blood doesn't scare him for he wont stop trying to do his best which isn't always the best thing for him, although a good work ethic he doesn't know when to stop and take a breath which has caused many injuries. His personality is really the only thing keeping him alive through the hard work of Broadway.
