• The country's leader is known as the tsar

CULTURAL REGION

• Warm, dry climate
• Many deserts, and mountainous areas
• Has several fertile river vallies

FUNCTIONAL REGION

• An area defined by one function that may cross political boundaries

MIDDLE EAST

• Stretches from North Africa to Iran
• Contains petroleum oil

SUEZ CANAL

• Man made canal between Egypt, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia
• Made to make trade travel easier and faster

LATIN AMERICA

• Consists of Mexico, belice, San Salvador, Nicaragua and other countries
• Mixture of Spanish speaking races

PANAMA CANAL

• Man made canal by the USA
• Connects the Pacific Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico

SUB SAHARAN AFRICA

• Fertile land, slowly being deminished
• Between the Sahara desert and the Congo rainforest
