bathing at home and going to the toilet today is a very private thing but in Ancient Rome you bathed in public bath or not at all. there baths were just like our swimming pools except they did it naked and in big groups but they didn't mind that was there way of keeping clean.
There was three different baths a hot one, a warm one and a cold on you would usually spend about an hour in each one. but the Romans enjoyed there bath times the would sometimes have job meetings, social event gathering or to just catch up with people and the latest gossip and news!

also going to the toilet toady is very private but once again Roman didn't care they used to poo, wee or do any thing there and they didn't have a choice it was either go there or not go at all, but unfortunately for then the toilets here dint flush so when you went in the smell was awful!

Rome got it first Roman aqueduct system in 312 bc: the Aqua Appia. Although aqueducts were not their invention, Romans were very good engineers and brought the design and construction of aqueducts to an all time high.

The Etruscan laid the first underground sewers in the city of Rome around 500 BC.

and when Romans brush there teeth its not like we do it today they actually used a stick!
they would shave the end of it and brush it against their teeth. and don't get me started on tooth paste we used fluorine, mint and more clean things but in the ancient times they used a powder of wait for it.......

a powder of ox hooves this is a picture of ox hooves imagine brushing your teeth with a stick and then a powder of ox hooves on the stick it doesn't sound too good does it?

ancient Rome's hygiene had a big impact on todays society because if it wasn't for them we wouldn't have some of the ideas we have today!
