ARCTIC/ANTARCTIC

• The main cash crop for this region is Rhodiola rosea
• This is a hardy herb which is used in many medicine
• This crop is in somewhat high demand
• This crop is bringing purpose to an otherwise desolate region

Asia: Vietnam

• The main cash crop of Vietnam is coconuts
• Coconuts- worldwide cash crop, Vietnam- main exporter of crop
• Most countries make use of this crop for different purposes
• Vietnam has gained huge profit and made an important staple for themselves
• The country makes the crop more readily available globally

NORTH AMERICA: U.S.

• Cash Crop- Tobacco
• One of America's Top 10 Cash Crops
• This crop is one of the main reasons America was created
• This is because tobacco was one of the main reasons the colonies were able to thrive
• Tobacco was revolutionary in colonial economy, not just in America, but also other countries

EUROPE: IRELAND

• Cash Crop- Potato
• Today this crop is still rather prevalent in Europe
• This cash crop became a currency of sorts for Ireland in the 1800s
• It brought some relief to the poor, economic success, and a famine
• This famine, although detrimental, made the world rethink agriculture patterns

Africa: Biofuel

• Cash Crop- Jatropha Curcus
• This is the main crop used by Africa for biofuel
• This has turned Africa into a huge supplier of such fuel
• Many speculate that this is causing a lot of the hunger in Africa
• However, none can deny the huge profits the continent brings in from the industry

Australia

• Cash Crop- Lentils
• While not the largest exporter of lentils, it's one of Australia's main crops
• Huge profits come in as lentils are strived for worldwide
• This is due to the plant's hardiness, especially in drought
• While a food source to many, it's a money source to Australia

South America

• Cash Crop- Potato(again)
• The potato crop originated in the Andes Mts.
• For a long time it brought South America economic success
• This is due to the fact that most European nations wanted it
• While not as successful today, the crop is still prevalent
