The Agrarian Movement

Founded in 1867, the Farmers Movement sought to advance the economic and political status of poor, rural people, especially farmers.

• Farmers faced more difficulties as food prices dropped
• Expenses stayed high
• Greater use of machinery and fertilizer led to an abundance of crops

It happened because the farmers were spending more money then they were earning. So they got together and therefore the Agrarian movement(Farmers Movement) was born.
