  • Cheap and easy to collect
  • Easy for goverment to know if their policies have been good/working

Negatives

  • Dose not take equality into account
  • GDP can be misleading with population
  • Doesn't account for environment policies
  • Figures of government can adjust GDP figures to gain more power
