PRESENTATION OUTLINE

Adoptive Children

By: Mitch & Stephen

Attachment Disorder is where a child shows negative behaviours because he/she does not have a stable caregiver.

A child will not bond with his caregiver as much if he/she is older.

It will take more time and effort to bond with a child if it is suffering from attachment disorder.

Attachment disorder is best thought of as a brain injury. The adoptive parent should realize they are raising a brain injured child and should treat them as such.

An adopted child may steal and lie. He/she will have a bad attitude about things.
